Yes!!! The title isnt a typo and you read that right. Its a GPhone or more specifically a Google Phone. While Big G has been making announcements about its latest acquistions of Adscape and Gapminder's Trendalyzer they have been absolutely tight-lipped when it comes to commenting on a project like this. In any case, newspapers, Wall Street analysts, and others contradict Google's tight-lipped response to far-reaching conjecture backed by sources familiar with the company's plans.

I personally think this is highly unlikely though I've heard the rumors too. But then the company we are talking about is Google, which till quite recently was only a Search Engine company. Hardly a while later they reinvented themselves as the Web Services company. For all you know they could soon become the All Pervasive Company!
This adds more fuel to my conspiracy theory though :) Now google even knows where you are and where you have been!
Just imagine the contextual ads possibilities with such a product. So you are on 54th and the phone shows you an ad for the nice toy store on 55th selling the exact lego set you searched for last weekend.. Exciting.. and Scary!
Will that phone have search engine (people-finder) built-in.... it would be useful to search though the GSM n/w for a particular person or a number ;-)

Nokia has an app called Nokia sensor, that lets you search for other sensor users over Blue Tooth. I guess its usefulness is limited by how many users are currently using it. But once this or a similar app gets popular, it opens up interesting possibilities. Check out some cool animations here
